Baltic Center for Contemporary Art Announces Partnership with Sky Arts
GATESHEAD.- Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art announced a new media partnership with international satellite broadcaster BSkyB’s arts channel Sky Arts.
The joint venture began in October 09, centers on Baltic’s autumn season and culminates in a documentary Sky Arts at Baltic to be broadcast in December across the Sky Arts television channels and website.
The program features interviews from internationally recognized Magnum photographer Martin Parr and cultural icon Malcolm McLaren, both of whom are currently exhibiting at Baltic. In addition to capturing footage of the current exhibitions Sky Arts at Baltic will also feature interviews with North East based artist Fiona Crisp and Baltic’s Director Godfrey Worsdale.

As part of the partnership Baltic offered one lucky Sky Arts viewer the opportunity to meet music, fashion and art legend Malcolm McLaren at a private viewing of his latest work Paris, Capitol of the 21st Century followed by dinner at Baltic’s award winning rooftop restaurant Six.
Sky Arts at Baltic will be shown from Monday 30 December. Sky Arts can be accessed through Sky’s Style & Culture package. Sky Arts can also be received through Virgin Media XL package with Sky Arts 1 on 284 and Sky Arts 2 on 285 and Sky Arts 1 is also available on Tiscali channel 114.
