Joyriders-Photos by Ross McDonnell
In this series of photos entitled “Joyriders” Ross McDonnell, portrays the lives of young Irish people living in in the hollowed-out slum known as Ballymun. The images capture the abandonment of working class youths amidst burning cars, police sirens, and drugs abuse.
Ross McDonnell is a photographer and filmmaker. Born in Dublin, Ireland in 1979 he has worked as a photographer, cinematographer and director. His work has been published in The New York Times, Art in America, The Observer, The Washington Post, The Irish Times and Fader magazine among others.
