Nick Patterson is the New Director of Communications at Birmingham Museum
BIRMINGHAM, AL.- The Birmingham Museum of Art welcomes a new communications director. Nick Patterson, a Birmingham native, assumed responsibility for internal and external communications, including public relations and marketing at BMA January 27.
Prior to arriving at the museum, Patterson was an associate editor at Southern Living Magazine, where he wrote feature and travel articles for nine years. Before that, he worked as a Media Relations Specialist for the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He began his career as a news reporter and columnist with the Birmingham Post-Herald where he worked for nearly 18 years.
“Nick brings such a strong background to the position and we are thrilled to be welcoming him to the Museum,” said Gail Andrews, director of the BMA. “His excellent skills as a writer, his knowledge of our community and the regional media, plus his talents with social and new media, will help the Museum expand our outreach and forge even deeper connections with the public.”
