BALI. Possesing nearly half of the worlds population, the Asia Pacific region is incredibly diverse. Hundreds of ethnic groups and language have created a kaleidoscope of art forms that remains unparalleled to this day. Additionally, over the past several hundreds years, Asia Pacific has been a destination for artists from all other continents and these artists, combined with immense local creativity and inspiration, have created a harmony of styles and forms that must seen to be believed.
Museum Pasifika, located in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia, was established in 2006 as a permanent institution to showcase these styles and forms for all humanity and study to enjoy. With over 600 workds on permanent display, the museum is an important complement to the scores of public museums in Bali and the region.
It have 11 pavilions and each pavilion represented: Indonesian, Italian, Dutch, French, Indo-European, Exhibition, Indochina, Polynesian, Pacific, Tapa, and Asian.
Museum Pasifika contributing the artistic and cultural heritage of the region and is a required source for all interested in the fascinating and complex region we know as Asia Pacific.
I salute Philippe Augier, Moetaryanto, and Lala Tamara the founder of Museum Pasifika, for their whole hearted belief in the role of art to build bridges between different societies and cultures.
This museum provide to Bali residents, Indonesian visitors and overseas tourists a brief introduction to some of the Asia Pacific’s unique variety of cultural artifacts that now meet in Bali.
